Ode To Happiness ~ Discussion by The Fans and Poets at TKWL

It's a beautiful art book. Made entirely by hand. It sits in it's own hard cover sleeve.

A moment to admire the book itself.  Totally surprised! Never thought Keanu Reeves would ever publish a poem. So many fans have been blown away by the thought. Just one of the many surprises Mr Reeves has stored away. =)

Won't share too much about what Keanu said in regards to my mission that day. Keanu is also a comedian. haha!

When I first saw this picture I thought it was a funny looking frog. Then a tub but then it also looks like a man and a women. I still have to ask Alexandra questions in regards to this picture. So what do you see?

Koi help heal feelings of despair?

My friend finds his way out of the darkness

Was this after a demon ride? Or does the business make one feel like they have sold their soul? Hmmm?

Sealed with a kiss of course.

Sharing a little bit about what came to mind at first read of the book. Keanu was reading it but  had to go at my pace and analyze what I saw. Some say he wrote it because of a song or other reasons. In my opinion he wrote it. Those are the words that he chose to put out. Though some are still waiting for their copy.  We as a group would like to share what is inside the treasure that Keanu Reeves with Alexandra Grant shared this Valentine's Day. Please join us in a fun discussion of Ode To Happiness

  1. Comment? Where to start???? The row of towels look like a set of steps which get smaller on the decline which could imply many things. Keanu's words seem self-depreciating, self pitying, then turn to words of acceptance. Poets write on feelings, emotions, thoughts,...it's ALL personal. Yet, Keanu is a mysterious person so he may just be messing with us! Haha!

  2. The entire book is an unmeasurabel treasure.. two pages caught me again and again.. "I wash my hair with regret shampoo" and * then smooth on my I don't deserve lotion".. Strange to me is that I see myself in that book..

  3. Ah yes I knew that some would say he was messing with us. It crossed my mind as well. However I don't think Keanu would play the pity me game with us. Even if it was a joke of some sort why those words? I analyze people for a living for many years. When someone is relaxed and talking or creating they become vulnerable no matter how hard they try to hide the emotion. This is true if you are not dealing with someone who feels no emotion. I can guarantee this is not the case with Reeves. He's sharing part of what is on his mind through art in his own way. Some call it mysterious I feel it is an artist who never stops creating.

  4. You know I don't see no mistery... or not more than in any person I met in my life... I think those words of Keanu and the pictures from Alexandra are pure. Hard to express what I mean.. That's not acting...

  5. Only Keanu is not a simple person. I could never compare Keanu with someone else I have met or meet. He is his own person. Yes in fact I feel that there is a lot that the public does not see and will not see. Even if you encounter him in person. If lucky he will allow a peek at what Keanu Reeves is like. He is fortunate to be in the public eye and be able to hide so much of himself from the public. It has it's good and bad points only because I feel that he is sometimes not taken seriously because so many do not know that there is more to him. I think as he gets older he may reveal more or maybe not.

  6. So back to the pictures. Can we discuss the pictures? I want to know what others see or interpret in the pictures.

  8. in the first picture of the tub. it took me a moment to see the tub...i see agony, hurt, longing, covered in a hidden love. the eyes peering out seem sweet, innocent...almost feline-esqe. reminds o' my kitty lulu e'erytime i see it. reminds me o' cowprint and tho' its black n white i see a pale midnite blue surrounding it. it's lovely yet sad yet insanely deep and in an odd way incredibly uplifting...i feel every aspect o' this gift is a treasure resurrected from deep within. it's touching, beautiful and inspires one to continue their trek thru this sometimes dark planet

  9. The pictures....I wanted to say more than what I typed before, but I had to log out because my youngest sister came by to hang out with me. I let her see the pics and give me her interpretation. She saw different images than I did with each page. After she pointed out what she saw, I went back and described my views. I could get into some deep theology on this entire book, but I don't want to ramble on all night. The pic which looks like steps to me (100% can't change a thing towel page) seems to have a cigarette at the top with steps decreasing in size as they go down. I have noticed Keanu smoking in some pics. Some people try the step method to quit smoking. Is this something he's tried to do and has had a great struggle with? You start out quitting with a firm foundation (hence the large step at the top) and the confidence of being able to go without the nicotice dwindles such as the steps do in the picture. The picture preceding it looks to have an angel in the background of Keanu wrapping himself in the gorgeous white towel. Like I said, I could go on and on about my interpretation of all of it!

  10. Thanks Bobbi for your last comment. I really hope others will look at the art in this manner. There is a lot said in each picture. I see the cigarette. Also in the page "When the hue has gone blue" Not sure if anyone else has been caught in the crossfire of a paparazzi attack. The flashes turn everything blue. The picture might be that Keanu is squinting?

  11. THE WRITING IS SHARING INSPIARATION OF A JOURNEY.
A JOURNEY THAT HAS BEEN DELT LIFE’S EXPERIENCE OF SORROW, DESPIRATION, MISERY,REGRETAND PAIN. LIVING INTERNALLY WITH FEELING OF WORTHLESSNESS, SELF UNACCEPTENCE, LONLINESS. A REVILLATION. LIFE IS WHAT HAPPENS TO YOU.CHANGE IS INTERNAL. LOOK BEYOND YOURSELF AND APPRECIATE. YOU ARE NOT ALONE. THE WORLD OUTSIDE OURSELVES ,THE MATERIAL THINGS DO NOTHING TO CHANGE WHAT IS INSIDE . THE ROOM TO SULK IN ,THE CANDLE TO SHED WARMTH AND LIGHT,THE BATH TO SOOTH, WATER AND SOAP TO CLEANSE, WHITE (PURE) TOWEL THAT NEVER CHANGES, SOOTHING LOTION AND FACIAL CREAM, THE SILK “FEEL GOOD” PJ’S. THEN SLEEP, ESCAPE FROM YOUR CONSCIOUS WORLD . REALIZATION SOMEWHERE SOMEONE HAS EXPERIENCED WORSE.

  13. Despite the fact, that we think Keanu has everything, the things that some of us only dream about, to me its says, no matter what you have, everyone hurts and feels pain sometimes. To me it's like he wonders about all the undue attention perhaps believing he does not deserve it.....and tries to keep focused on what matters most to him..hence "let this word picture remind you", I have read the book so many times and each time come up with something different..,

  14. I THINK THE PIC WITH "I DRY MYSELF WITH MY GEORGEOUS WHITE" APPEARS AS A RELIGIOUS FIGURE. JESUS HOLDING A SHROUD. MAYBE A RELIOUS PATH TAKEN IN THE JOURNEY TO HAPPINESS. THE DESPIRE ROOM ALSO APPEARS THE IT IS A MELTING ICECUBE. DISPIRE IS "MELTING" AWAY WITH TIME.

  16. I find this poem very profound. It has a deep meaning for me and it also reflects a part of myself. When we have a problem, we cloister oneself away and can't stop thinking about it. We literally steaming. We sink into a rage, misery and grief. And lots of WHYs are following... Why does it happen to me? Why me? I don't deserve this! Why I haven't done it? Why? Wallow in self-pity and then you come to the point of "I hate myself"! This procedure hurts and it's useless... The darkest night is always followed by the day! Another day, another chance for a better life... keep smiling... and never forget that it can always be worse... x

  21. tis difficult to say the right words for something as special as 'ode to happiness.' i have enhaled it and still tis not enough. i contemplated what does one say about something that comes from such a deep place?! the fact that he opened up and let us see what's within is so incredibly beautiful! real feelings, emotions were set free amidst the most remarkable and mesmerizing illustrations.

my first response to placing the book within my mits was 'This is TOO special! Dare my eyes glance at the pages!" being someone who has this need to touch and feel things this treasure satisfied those sensations! the texture of the outter cover shows how things on the outside can and may have a semi-rough surface but once you remove and release the outer paines grey shell ~ you can what is held within it's delicate walls ~ something that's soft, fuzzy, cuddly, and engulfs you in raw emotion causing tears to flow. allowing those whove wread it to be able to understand the gaze we've admired for decades.

thank you for opening up your psyche and allowing to peer in and drink withing your muse. you've voiced what we are all to afraid to open up and actually say!! thank you!!!

there is so much in each picture! i'm still staring into the 1st one...sorry i'm just slow like that!!! there's so much in each illustration so hard to say one thing because each time u open the page you see something new! just like an excellent piece of cinema it doesn't matter how many times u see it, u see something new and different with each viewing.

this is a remarkable piece of art and my most cherished item because i feel the heart and soul of it! it breathes...ode to happiness has life, love and light and is a definate masterpiece!

all my love and thanks for this special gift from your soul!!

  22. Everyone had very original and interesting interpretations of this book. Had fun reading everyone's thoughts and what they saw at first or second or even third glance. I love it when Keanu Reeves fans can see him as human and not just another pretty face. I would expect nothing less from the fans and friends at TKWL.
